Take a swim or early morning workout in Dunfermline's magnificient, newly refurbished, sports centre with swimming pool, squash, fitness rooms etc.

There are over 50 golf courses within 50 miles of Dunfermline with several in Dunfermline itself including:
Dunfermline Golf Club, with its club house in a 600 year old baronial mansion
Forrester Park Golf Club
Canmore Golf Club
and Pitraevie Golf Club.
You don't have to be a member to play these courses. Visitors are always welcome.
Dunfermline is just an hour's drive to St Andrews where numerous courses await.
The Alhambra Theatre and Carnegie Hall
For a night out, Dunfermline boasts two theatres, attracting major shows and first class performers. There are also theatres at nearby Kirkcaldy and Glenrothes.

Eat out at some of the numerous cafes and restaurants, with menus to suit all budgets, or visit a traditional pub, all within a few minutes walk of your holiday home. If you want a break from cooking, there is no need to cook once.

The bus and coach station is in the centre of town just ten minutes walk from Carnegie Cottage and Glen Malcolm Apartment with regular services to Edinburgh, Kirkcaldy, St Andrews, and many of the coastal villages.
The excellent Museum and Public Library has a local history department and family tree search facilities.
Situated midway between Edinburgh and St Andrews and with a string of picturesque coastal villages in both directions, Dunfermline and Kirkcaldy are ideal central locations to explore Fife and surrounding areas, both big enough towns to provide lots to do should you get a day or two of rain.
